Technology is ever advancing, therefore, scientists are always trying to find ways to use experiments to create new cells and find ways to grow food in the laboratory. Dutch scientist Mark Post was able to grow in-vitro cattle stem cells which were then knitted together as well as other ingredients typically in a burger and resembled your typical round shaped burger patty and made the first lab-grown burger, the Test Tube Burger.

The aim for the test-tube burger was to grow meat in the laboratory so that the slaughtering of cattle for meat will no longer be the only choice. PETA which is the animal rights group is supporting the idea of the in-vitro burgers. I don’t know about the idea of eating test tube meat proteins. Just the thought of it makes me cringe and I’d rather just be vegetarian. Plus with the high cost of meat, many restaurants are opting to use different kind of “meat” such as Ikea when they were questioned about their meatballs being made of horse meat. Many Chinese restaurants in China were serving fake meat but you can protect yourself by just analyzing  the way the meat looks.

Would you consider trying test tube food for the sake of trying it or to save animals from being slaughtered, or just go vegetarian?
