Tasty Tuesday: Monora Thai Cuisine

Monora Thai Cuisine Restaurant is located at Cerritos and was actually in the same area before it was torn down to make a whole new trendy foodie corner. It shares the same plaza with 85 Degrees Bakery, Class 302, Gen BBQ, and a Shabu Shabu joint. My friend "J" asked me to choose from the many restaurants in the area. It was a pleasant surprise to see a Thai place in Cerritos so we decided to try this place out. The interior looks completely new and has a quiet, slow, and relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick and the staff were nice. [caption id="attachment_18066" align="alignnone" width="600"]Menu Monora Thai Cuisine Menu[/caption] You can see they have a long list of menu items such as stir-fried noodles, soups, appetizers, curry plates, pasta, fried-rice, drinks, and desserts. Mixed vegetables with chicken, pork and shrimp in a light broth. $5.25[/caption] I ordered the Combination Soup in a bowl which is a mix of beef, pork, and shrimp. The broth was plain, simple and not too salty, but I enjoyed it. Luckily there were spices to liven it up a bit was I would've been fine even without it. The only disappointment was that there was just one measly piece of shrimp in my soup... Yep, just one shrimp as shown in the picture above. Is that why they can call it a Beef, Pork , and SHRIMP soup because they added one? Gosh, I was sad 😥  The soup was enjoyable though since there were lots veggies and was a perfect dish for the rainy day. Monora Thai Cuisine Pad Thai- Thai rice noodle stir-fried with egg, bean sprouts and green onion. $6.95[/caption] "J" ordered the Pad Thai which was probably the best one I've ever tasted. It was extra spicy (you can see the pepper seeds!), there were lots of peanuts, bean sprouts, onions, and had so much flavor. The tiny pieces of chicken were so flavorful! The serving size looks small in the picture but it was enough for "J" and I to share and to take some home. [caption id="attachment_18063" align="alignnone" width="600"]Thai Spice variety Monora Thai Cuisine Spice variety[/caption] Here are the different kind of spices you can add to your rice, noodle, soup, or appetizer. If you're in the mood for tasty Thai food at the right price, I highly recommend this place! Monora Thai Cuisine restaurant is located at 11448 South St, Cerritos, CA 90703.
