As far as I first took notice, coconut water’s popularity began about late last year. When I first heard about it, I didn’t care much about it since I disliked shredded coconuts so why would water be any different. My parents used to buy me the Mexican coconut ice cream which had the shredded coconuts on the bottom of the bar. I loved the creamy coconut taste but by the time I was down to my last bite I would toss it away because of the coconut or I would spit it out.
Super markets started shelving coconut milk and then came the coconut water. Out of curiosity, I tried the coconut milk, but it wasn’t really doing it for me because it was too creamy and it didn’t make a good cup of coffee. It may be good with cereal but I don’t remember the last time I had it.
So let’s get to the Zico chocolate coconut water. It was simply delicious with the chocolate flavor. Regular coconut water has an indescribably strange taste which I think is the reason many people turn away from it. But I know I can make them like coconut water again if they just tried the chocolate version. It’s like drinking cold ‘hot coco’ but doesn’t have the viscosity.
Zico coconut water would be great to have after going to the gym and sweating everything out. Coconut water provides more potassium than a banana which is an electrolyte needed for heart health. It also contains magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and sodium which are the essential electrolytes to prevent cramping of the muscles.
