Weekend Wrap Up: Christmas Decorations, BBQ, And Hike!

Hi friends, hope you all had a great first week of December weekend! Isn’t it lovely seeing all the Christmas lights and Christmas tree lighting ceremony going on in your neighborhood? I’ve seen two going on in cities near me and it’s a wonderful time for friends, family, and kids to tis the season.

Here’s the latest vid on YouTube, go check it out! ^_^

When I was thinking that we haven’t hiked in such a long time, our friend “T” wanted to hit the trails early morning. I was like perfect! (Street Fighter voice over) haha. After almost a week of much needed rain we wanted to check to see if there were water streaming down the trails. There wasn’t much. Just puddles and some parts of the fields were still bone dry. The ground is so dry that the rain just wasn’t enough. Days were gloomy the past few days but I had to keep reminding myself that we need the rain, we need the rain. It was nice seeing the sun for a change and getting a healthy dose of vitamin D.

Saturday night, we had dinner at Shin-sen-gumi and though it’s always a perfect weather to get ramen, it’s even better as the weather is finally cooling down. It was another busy night but good thing we didn’t have to wait too long. As the hostess was calling out the names of parties that signed in, majority of them didn’t how up. The order was our usual, gyozas for appetizers, wonton soup for me, and ramen bowl for “G”.
After dinner, we quickly took a stroll in the surrounding neighborhood to see if the homes setup extravagant Xmas lights yet. There were a few home with xmas decorations but not all. We’ll have to drop by maybe in a few more days and see the homes in full blown Christmas decor.

Sunday was a nice day to catch up on sleep. I probably got like 9 hours of sleep? That was awesome. “G” and I were playing this new card game called “Smash Up” and let me tell you, it’s very competitive and fun. You guys have to try it. Check the link below!

We had to prep for a last minute dinner and we decided to make burgers. Who says you can’t grill on a December? 🙂 Then we made Red Velvet Cake, topped with Cookies & cream Ice Cream and Whipped Cream.

For dessert, we made red velvet cake without the cream because instead we topped it with cookies n cream and heavy whipped cream.

Here are just a few treats I’ve been treating myself with…

Kirkland Cookies

I usually like Costco cookies but these in particular was kinda crumbly. But I still ate it because I was so in need of some sweets.

I love European cookies such as this one. Costco even sells the European cookie variety during the holidays.

Now that the holidays are around the corner, I gotta start doing some shopping, watch Home Alone, and wear festive clothing.
Have a wonderful week friends!
