Walmart is now getting into the produce business by providing fruits and vegetables at majority of their stores. I personally don’t like it even though many people wouldn’t care since it’s convenient. Small businesses like mom and pop farms and other little markets are over looked as these mega retail stores are getting into every aspect of consumer product business. I am guilty of going to Walmart but never have I bought any produce. My bro was the one that bought the fruit tray for potluck at his office. Maybe it’s just me but the thought of getting it there gets me uneasy.
Apparently, Walmart is now having their Ad Match Guarantee if you can provide competitor’s prices of a food ad. Consumer’s won’t even need to bring in the physical ad according to Walmart.
Amazon.com offers a wide variety of food products on their site from coffee, breakfast items, spices, organic & gluten-free food. They just announced that they will be providing grocery items near the bay area and having it delivered. Through AmazonFresh, food will be delivered for Los Angelenos right at their front door. I would preferably order food products through Amazon than buy produce from Walmart.
