Viva Zapatas is located at 3826 E Craig Rd North Las Vegas, NV 89030. Just by the looks of the area and the way the restaurant looks, you wouldn’t even bother trying it out, at least I know I probably wouldn’t. But my friend suggested we try this place since they’ve been there once and loved the food. It took us quite a while to drive there but he said it was so worth it. My bf and I had to try the food and decide for ourselves.

When you step inside, the dim lighting is not what you expect and you won’t believe how much details they have inside with a lot of traditional decorations. The hostess said the wait would be about 20 mins but it was must quicker than expected. The waiter got us our drinks right away and placed a huge bowl of chips on our table along with a bowl of delicious salsa and beans. My friend said that their tortilla is to die for and that it was homemade. I just love homemade corn tortilla, but when I tried theirs, it was soft and fluffy, as if they were flour tortilla. It was great eating the tortilla with the beans and salsa and their guacamole which was made right in front of us.

After filling up on chips, I wasn’t too hungry but when I saw that they had the taco salad, I ordered it with chicken. The plate was huge and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to make a dent but I did after tasting it. The tortilla shell was served on a plate and was nicely brown and crunchy. Inside the shell was a lot of shredded chicken, sour cream, guacamole, beans, and cheese!

I pointed out the fajitas so my bf ordered the beef fajitas which was served on a hot sizzling plate. I tasted a bit of the veggies and it was so full of flavor. Next time I come here, I will definitely have to try out their fajitas.

You will love the food here just by trying out their chips, salsa, beans, and homemade tortilla, but be adventurous and try out their items on the menu as well! Make sure you don’t stuff yourself with just chips and salsa.
