Like I promised from my previous post about Trader Joe’s Pound Plus 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate, I would share my review on this awesome find at Trader Joe’s. It’s the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Mochi! Now that it’s October, stores and markets everywhere are all jumping on the pumpkin bandwagon. It comes only once a year so it’s a time we can all enjoy a variety of food items with pumpkin flavor. I just love everything about pumpkin, to baked pumpkins, pumpkin pie, pumpkin latte, pumpkin candle scent, and of course my new love…pumpkin mochi.
There are 6 cute mochi to a box which is the usual mochi count just like other brands such as Costco’s Mochi: Cold Mountain Mochi Ice Cream, Maeda-en Black Sesame Mochi Ice Cream, Maeda-en Mango Mochi, and Mikawaya Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream. Becareful you don’t wear anything dark since the powder on the mochi will get all over the place. It happened to me and I never learn. So once I took my first bite I could instantly taste the pumpkin goodness and the mochi pastry is sweet and chewy. It didn’t have any pumpkin flavor but the inside did. I was kinda hoping that there were chunks of pumpkin in it but it was so good I wasn’t complaining.
I checked the ingredients for the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin mochi and majority of it looks good to me. For each mochi, there are 100 calories so make sure you only eat a few at a time!
Go enjoy the pumpkin season while it lasts and I suggest you try this pumpkin mochi! You won’t regret it!
