Tony’s Original Deli has a deal on Groupon so my friend “E” suggested we buy it from there and try out this Deli. We learned that this place is owned by another joint called Heroes Bar & Grill. Tony’s Original Deli is the sister store. This deli is unique that it offers over 25 unique bottled sodas 60 craft and imported beers. They’re in the process of renovating the place but it shows a lot of history on the walls from old black and white pictures, retro advertisements, and just has that old town feel. There’s even a jukebox which really reminded me of KBAR in Gardiner Montana.
There were only two staff that I saw at the front counter but it was mainly just one girl making the sandwich. Just know that these sandwiches are really big as they really stack on the meats and the bread is a thick cut. I knew I was going to get BLT and nothing was going to change my mind. I was glad I did because my goodness the sandwich is massive! Not only is the sourdough bread delicious and perfectly toasted but the BACON was something else. I never had such a thick cut of perfectly cooked bacon in my life. It almost had a texture of jerky and you just have to try it to believe it.
“G” and “R” ordered the Pastrami sandwich with a side of Tony’s Potato Salad which is a favorite among many visitors. One bite and you will love it because there’s so much flavors going on from the celery seasoning, pepper, and many other spices. The girl that was our server shared a little story behind the potato salad that the owner had to buy off the recipe since the original owners weren’t planning to give it up that easily. I would love to find out about the recipe because it’s simply that amazing.
