Newly Remodeled Sushi Restaurant- Tomikawa Sushi Bar Restaurant

A newly renovated sushi restaurant that will draw you in!

Tomikawa Sushi Bar Restaurant is located on 14191 Jeffrey Rd Irvine, CA 92620.

I was so excited to try this place out because I’m always up for a new place to try especially if it’s a sushi place. I’ve checked the yelp reviews and there weren’t a lot of positives about the place. Customer complains were the horrible service and the salty sashimi. Sashimi shouldn’t be salty unless you dip it in soy sauce, but I’ll be the judge of that when I try it out.

I checked out their menu and I couldn’t decide whether or not to order the lunch combo special which comes with a selection of meat and then is served with rice, salad, miso soup, and California roll or the Sashimi Combination which comes with Chef’s Special Sashimi, sushi & California Roll.

When it was time for me to order, I didn’t hesitate to order the Chef’s special. For around $13, I got a pretty good portion of food on my plate. The presentation of the sushi and sashimi was pleasing to the eyes and the sashimi was fresh. I usually don’t care for the California rolls, but it was delicious and filling.

They offer a selection of “Premium Rolls” just to name a few, like Spider roll, Ichiban Roll, Sumo Roll, Tempura Roll, Heart Attack Roll, Mexican Roll, Sensual Pleasure & Snow Roll. Included in their menu are the sushi salad, bento boxes which comes with your typical combination of side salad, miso soup, vegetable tempura, beef/ chicken/ salmon/ or eel, and a side side of sashimi.

So what’s my review for Tomikawa Sushi Bar Restaurant? I give it a 4 out of 5 because I enjoyed the food, the environment and the service. I’d love to go back to try out their dinner menu.
