Hey everyone! How’s everyone doing so far? It seems like it has been a long week so far but on the bright side, just tell yourself that it’s going to be Wednesday tomorrow so we’re halfway to the weekend!!
I went to lunch with my friends a while back and we returned to Tomikawa located in Irvine. Last time we came here, the whole place was closed for remodeling so we rescheduled. When we got there after the remodeling, the place looked very trendy, inviting and clean.
Since I had a great experience here the last time I was excited to come back and try something different. As always I was quick to jump on Yelp.com to check out which dish looked the most appetizing. They all looked pretty tasty since I was hungry.
The restaurant was already full of people even though we arrived before noon and once were seated, there was a big group of people waiting to be seated. It was a good thing we got there at the time that we did.
Instead of getting something raw, I decided to order from their lunch special where you get to choose 3 items. Yeah I know, that seems like a lot of food but my tummy was telling it nothing was going to stop me from getting 3 items! I ordered the SALMON TERIYAKI since it caught my attention. Salmon just tastes good cooked or uncooked. My second item was the CALIFORNIA ROLL since it’s just plain and simple, and my last item was the VEGETABLE ROLL which is made of cucumber, asparagus, avocado, and gobo. I have no idea what gobo is but it was listed on the site’s menu.
The order came with a small salad and miso soup which is perfect to eat while you wait for your food to arrive. Th rolls had too much rice in it so I got full really fast. PLUS you get a small bowl of rice… I think that’s too much rice in one sitting. Perhaps next time, I won’t order 2 order of rolls. I’d rather order a sashimi plate instead.
