First Stop for Good Eats @ The Crumpet Shop!
The Crumpet Shop is located on 1503 1st Ave (between Pike St & Pine St) Seattle, WA 98101 in the downtown neighborhood.
I Yelped this place out before heading out to Seattle WA. I haven’t had breakfast yet and it was close to noon so I was lucky to bump into this place! I walked in and looked at their huge menu so I had no idea what to order. It was my first time there so I asked the cashier, who is the grandson of the person who first opened the business, what he suggests. He suggested the Pesto, tomato, and English cheese crumpet if I wasn’t looking for anything sweet.
The crumpet was oozing with cheesy and oily goodness from the cheese and pesto sauce and the tomato gave the dish a little bit of a tang. I was surprised at how the crumpet was still crunchy on the outside even though it was covered in oil. The inside was warm, fluffy, and soft and reminded me of an English muffin. Make sure you get plenty of napkins and a fork and knife!
So what is a crumpet really? Crumpets are a Traditional English Griddle Cake and The Crumpet Shop has been making it for the past thirty-six years!
Not only do they serve Crumpets, but also scones, and whole tea leafs which are all organic. They offer many different toppings for the crumpets such as Walnuts, Honey & Ricotta, Ricotta, Almond Butter & Marmalade, Wild Smoked Salmon blended w/ cream cheese served & cucumber slices, and Pesto, Tomato & Parmesan to name a few.
If you happen to be in Seattle, WA, be sure to check The Crumpet Shop and try out their delicious Crumpets, scones, and tea!! You won’t regret it 🙂
