Hi everyone, happy Thursday! AND not only is it Thursday but it’s also the first day of spring and the vernal equinox. Did you know the name “Equinox” means “equal night” in Latin? I had no idea! But anyways here are some cool foodies facts I learned about for March. It’s National Peanut Month, National Noodle Month, and National Frozen Food Month!
I really enjoy eating Thai food because I like the sweet and tangibleness of many of the cuisines as well as the spice. I never used to be a fan of anything sour or spicy but my taste buds has certainly changed.
I was back at Thai Cafe again after my last visit which was a while back….back in June 2013 was when I went to Thai Cafe. This time around, I went with my friends during lunch where you can choose from their lunch specials. Last time I ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken so this time I decided to get something different.
I ordered the Chicken Satay for $8.95 which is grilled marinated chicken in skewers served with peanut sauce and steamed rice. I thought the order was quite tiny but it was delicious. I especially love the peanut sauce because you can dip the skewers in it as well as mixing it with the jasmine rice.
The meal also came with a mini side of yummy sweet and tangy Thai cucumber & onion salad. If I could order a bigger portion I would but I don’t see it on their menu. The next time I go I’ll be sure to ask for that in a bigger size.
