Solvang was an amazing experience. I never even heard about the place until my bf told me about it. At first, I thought it was located in a far away land somewhere in Europe since he said it was a small Danish town. Then I found out it's located in the Santa Ines County, another area I have never heard of. I've been wanting to go for the longest ever since he told me about it which was around Christmas time. Holidays are the most expensive time to go, but that applies to every where else. As we were driving into the town, the cute European design houses caught my eyes. It definitely felt like I was somewhere in Europe and we didn't even have to take a long plane ride! My bf was a great tour guide as he was talking about the town such as the windmills located throughout the city, the wineries, the visitor's center, restaurants, and introduced me to Danish pancakes ebelskiver served at a restaurant called Solvang Restaurant!! It was heaven in my mouth when I first tasted the pancake like texture soaked with the raspberry sauce and melted vanilla ice cream. I want to make some ebelskivers and make that our project. I will just need to get the right tools for that. Luckily we visited the visitor's center where the kind man working there gave us a map of Solvang and places for us to go.We decided we would go to a little petting zoo, an Ostrich farm nearby, and the miniature horses which I've been wanted to visit for the longest! [caption id="attachment_15807" align="alignnone" width="600"] Beautiful Solvang buildings[/caption] It really seemed like we were there for the whole week considering the amount of things we did.
