Yes, you heard that right, I mean you saw that right....it was hailing in Newport Beach CA early Monday morning. If you don't believe me, check out the article from OC Register http://www.ocregister.com/articles/snow-652776-beach-huntington.html [caption id="attachment_18439" align="alignnone" width="600"]Udon know how much you mean to me Udon know how much you mean to me[/caption] The night before, the cloud were dark gray and thunder could be heard from the distance. Okay now let's get to Shin-Sen-Gumi $3 Ramen Sale You Might Have Missed! [caption id="attachment_18443" align="alignnone" width="600"]Shin Sen Gumi $3 Sale Shin Sen Gumi $3 Sale[/caption] This event only happens once a year to celebrate the restaurant's successful business. This year was Shin-Sen-Gumi's 14th anniversary sale which was $3 for a bowl of noodles! Original price is $6.95 and you can add extra noodles for $1.50. We almost decided not to go, but good thing we wrote our name down and waited for a bit. Surprisingly the line was going by pretty fast and I first thought it was because people came in hungry so by the time they get their food, they down it so fast. But I was wrong. The reasoning was because the restaurant side was open only to serve the $3 ramen bowls and nothing else. It makes total sense as that is what the cooks will prepare helping make the process go by fast so customers are happy.

On my ramen, I ordered a soy sauce marinated hard-boiled egg, hard noodles, and a normal broth. "G" ordered the same expect with extra chashu and corn. For the rainy and cold weather, ramen was just perfect. It quickly warmed me up and it was quite delicious since it was only $3 and we haven't had it in a while. But don't worry if you missed it, just jot it down on your calendar that it's coming up again next year!
After enjoying a delicious bowl of ramen, we enjoyed ice cream at the Milk Bar. Unfortunately they ran out of their homemade waffle cones but had regular sugar cone. I got the Almond Roca Ice Cream, whereas "G" ordered the Caramel Swirl Ice Cream.
