The time was finally here after counting down for about 3 months, we were ready to take our Road Trip To Yellowstone! I thought the time would never come, and the countdown seemed like forever. We hurried up and loaded everything onto our super fly GMC Yukon and we hit the road on September 20th and prepared for the 16+ hours to get there!

You can’t have a road trip without snacks so we made occasional rest stops to pick up some munchies! Of course, we brought some snacks for the trips like a box of Rice Krispies, granola bars, trail mixes, and other goodies.

I was craving chocolates so my bf bought me this!

Don’t worry, they’re not really Bear poop and Moose Droppings. They’re just chocolate covered peanuts!

We drove through Nevada, little bit of Arizona, Utah, and Idaho, and along the way, we spotted the other side of The Grand Tetons from Idaho! I’ve never been to Idaho but it was an awesome feeling that I was in another state 🙂

We finally made it to West Yellowstone! We all worked up an appetite after driving through Nevada, Utah, and Idaho, so right when we entered West Yellowstone in Montana, we stopped by the Woodside Bakery we went to back in 2011. It sure did bring back a lot of great memories.

I wanted to post about Yellowstone because we were so lucky to have gone on the last week of September and not have to deal with the unfortunate Government closure of the parks. We had originally planned out trip for the 1st week of October and thankfully we didn’t. Not only was the closure a total unfortunate situation, but also a lot of the roads were closing as certain parts of the parks were snowing and some of many of the shops and visitors center was closing for the season.

We finally made it to Yellowstone National Park!

We paid the park fee and we got our map of the Yellowstone National Park! We were prepared to bust out our Canon camera to take pictures of anything and everything because you just can’t take a bad pic!

Road to Gardiner Montana

We stayed in Gardiner Montana which is the North East entrance to the Yellowstone Park. We stayed here last year as well and because we loved it, we decided to stay here again, but at a different place.

Of course we had to get out of the car to stretch a bit and check out amazing looking areas to take pictures.

We finally arrived to our cabin that our friend found. It was such a cute cabin and it even had the full kitchen with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots & pans, a nice living room with a lot of books about Yellowstone, a washer & dryer, a BBQ grill, and the best part was the beautiful backyard where the Yellowstone river flows through!

This post was mainly to share what it was like being on the road for 16+ hours and enjoying the scenic routes and share a little bit about the cabin we were at. We stopped for some grub along the way but that will be on a separate post as I like to focus on each restaurant with their own special post 🙂 I will also post the hiking trails separately too so I can focus on the main points and highlights of the trails. But I do hope you enjoyed these pictures.
