Happy Tuesday all! Yesterday I shared the Euro Bakery & Market at the Old World Village so now it’s time to share my experience at the Old World German Restaurant. Since we visited the Euro Market, we decided to try out the Old World German Restaurant. The Old World Village was quite empty but we came here on the Thursday so that’s probably why. It was nice to check out the Village and see what was around. It was as if we were in Solvang because of the structure, the arts, and the store.

We walked into the restaurant and we were seated right away. There were only two other couples in the restaurant so it was fairly quiet and had that romantic feel to it.

I ordered the chef salad which is topped with ham, turkey, Swiss & American cheeses and served with your choice of dressing.  I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered the Chef salad which was plain and simple and I ordered wine which is $5 a glass.

Kassler Rippchen
Kassler Rippchen $15.95 One smoked pork loin, served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes

“G” ordered the special which came with warm sauerkraut which was new to me but because it was cooked, it was sweet as well as sour. The dish was also served with a side of mashed potatoes.

We were served German bread which was simple yet tasty and the menu stated that if you really enjoyed the bread, you can purchase a load and have the bill added to the dine in receipt or visit the deli. I’m a simple eater so anything simple is fine with me. Though I wish the bread was warm to melt the butter, you just have to be patient with the butter to get to room temperature to spread easily with the bread.
