O3 Bistro & Lounge is a hip trendy spot in San Francisco where friends can gather together to enjoy some music like 80s (at least when I was there) and hangout at the fancy looking bar with tables and couches. I was here back in Feb. 2013 and it was an Asian Fusion but the menu has turned Thai.
My friends suggested we try out the meal courses and we were able to select what was available. The ceviche with taco chip appetizer was uniquely different as it wasn’t like the typical ceviche you’d get at a Mexican restaurant. It had shrimp mixed with what tasted like lemon juice, green onions, crispy wontons, manderine and the crispy fried taco chip was different and almost tasteless but all of the flavors and textures came together.
The pork belly will just melt in your mouth and the quail egg is a nice touch.
I never had scallops until this dish and I have to say, it was a good one. It was bursting with garlicky flavor, but I had to get used to the chewyness of the scallops.
I’m not big on thick slices of steak but this was pretty good. I really had to work the knife to cut it into smaller pieces but it was quite tasty. Especially if I cut off a piece from the side of the steak where all the flavor was packed at.
I felt like a kid again eating peanut butter cookies with milk. It’s just something about this simple dessert that makes you get that nostalgic feeling.
The bread pudding is a must as the bread just melts in your mouth. The strawberry sauce plus the vanilla ice cream totally complements the caramelized bread pudding.
