Nanasan: Popular OC Sushi Joint

For one of the best sushi places in OC, you have to check out Nanasan. It’s super popular as long can get long really quickly. This place opens Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2pm, and reopens at 530pm to 10pm. Saturdays are only open from 5:30 to 10pm and closes on Sundays. Luckily, customers can beat the long line by arriving at 5pm to sign in. Then the hostess will call in the names on the sign up sheet starting at 5:30pm.

Interior is quite small for make sure to not bring a big party.

Service is very prompt as the waitress and other staff quickly serves the water along with the complementary Pickled Salad. There’s multiple staff that will take customers orders and asking to make sure everything is tasting great.

Live Shrimp is one of my favorites. It’s slightly sweet, great texture, and I especially love the friend Shrimp Head.

Be sure to check out their dessert option. I love sushi restaurants because you always have room for dessert. The Black Sesame and Matcha Green Tea Flan is a must. The flavor of the black sesame and green tea is so outstanding and it’ll just melt in your mouth.

Once restaurant goers are done with the meal, the server will also provide complementary Gelatin Dessert that’s a great way to finish off the meal.

Nanasan is located at 3601 Jamboree Rd Ste 15B Newport Beach, CA 92660.
