It may be a while, but trust me, the wait is worth it. This joint is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that is busy like no other. The place is full with people taking to-go orders, big groups, families, and of course us. [caption id="attachment_17951" align="alignnone" width="600"]Naan bread, salad, onion, and butter Naan bread, salad, onion, and butter[/caption] As you're waiting, enjoy some Naan bread (flat bread)  with butter or just on its own. It's not like the typical naan bread I'm used to such as the one from Indian cuisines, but it's good. I was surprised to see a whole raw onion served in a dish, but it's my understanding that Persian dishes are full of onions and it's meant to be eaten with the meat and flat bread together. After one bite of the onion, my stomach was on fire. The coolness from the salad really helped. [caption id="attachment_17970" align="alignnone" width="600"]Chicken kabob and naan bread Chicken kabob and naan bread[/caption] Since I'm a huge chicken fan, I had to order the Chicken kabob and Naan Bread. The chicken is made of dark meat, marinated in lemon, onion, when basted with butter and saffron. There were more raw onions on the place which I totally avoided, but the grilled tomato was tasty. The common ingredients include tumeric, cardamon, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, coriander, and cinnamon. "Tahdig, what's that?" I said.  I had no idea what that was until he mentioned that if I remembered the fried rice we had at a different Persian restaurant. Then I remembered, I knew exactly what he was talking about. Tahdig is considered to be the soul food of Persian cooking and I can see why. It's made of a golden layer of fried rice which is fried at the bottom of the rice pot and can be topped with Stew on top. We ordered the Gormeh Sabzi Green Herb Beef Stew on top of Tahdig where the stew is made of lentils, spinach, mixed vegetables, beans, or eggplant. The entire dish is simply delicious which tastes like crunchy chips and makes your taste bugs guessing for more unique dishes!
