Hi friends, I hope you all had a wonder Christmas! So wow, so I didn’t realize that I haven’t posted my visit to Mutt Lynch’s back in November! Well here it is, as a part of Foodie Friday!
We arrived at 9am so you can imagine how difficult it was to find a parking spot. Interesting thing that both “G” and I noticed was that surfers were also showing up at this time. Shouldn’t they be packing up by 9? Well luckily for them the waves were high so the beach was full of surfers.
We met our friend “T” who already grabbed a table. The place wasn’t too busy but the orders did take a while to get. I was coffee free the whole week so I wanted to indulge in some coffee and plus something to drink to warm up, but it was already a bit warm.
I decided to be adventurous and order the Mutt Lynch’s Chocolate And Bacon pancakes! Can you say yum? It was full of melted chocolate chips and crunchy bacon bits. Plus I got more crispy bacon on the side. I had my eggs scrambled as usual and I usually give my sausage to “G” since I’m not a big fan.
Both “T” and “G” ordered two glasses of Hoegaarden schooners and I recently learned they limit customers to 3 because having more then that is not a good idea. The crowd here is always pleasant as they’re just here to chill and catch up with family, friends, and there are a few couples that even bring their kids. If you’re a sports fan don’t worry because there are plenty of TV’s around the place to see how the football teams are doing as well as baseball.
“G” ordered his usual Corned Beef Hash with a side of eggs and sourdough bread. I never noticed the sauce before but perhaps they serve it with this plate.
We took our walk down the pier and the water was quite clearer compared to other times we've been here. Many photographers were here as well to take great shots of the beach, and the birds..ahem, seagulls and pigeons. Well I never knew seagulls could be cute. We saw plenty of little seagulls scrambling about the shore. They sure can run super fast!
Fisherman were catching a bunch of fish and buckets were full. I expected there to be more fishers but there was only a few. Not only was it a relaxing weekend for everyone, it was as well for the pigeons as you can see there's one sun bathing.
As we walking back towards the parking lot, there was a man in front of the globe performing with his guitar. He was quite entertaining and he sure had a lot of energy! It's always fun checking out the beach since you see interesting people enjoy the weather and the scenery, soak up the sun, and hear the sound of the waves.
Mutt Lynch's is located at 2300 W Oceanfront, Newport Beach, CA 92663.
