R & D Kitchen Serving Savory Meatloaf Dishes, French Dip, Plus Carrot Cake!

R & D Kitchen was where "G" and I went to to celebrate our anniversary. I've never been to any restaurants in Fashion Island which is a trendy and popular dining and shopping location so this was a fun experience for me. He also said there was a few times that the OC Housewives were seen eating here but I don't watch that show so I didn't know who to keep a lookout for. [caption id="attachment_18927" align="alignnone" width="600"] R And D Kitchen French Dip[/caption] "G" suggested the French Dip Sandwich so I had to order it since I've never tried a sandwich such as that where you have to dip it into a sauce. I'm not a fan of soggy bread but dipping it into the sauce was a new tasty experience. The sandwich is cut into halves so it's easier to pick up and dip it right into the sauce. If you don't like the dipping sauce, you can choose to use the horseradish sauce. [caption id="attachment_18926" align="alignnone" width="600"] R & D Kitchen Meatloaf[/caption] "G" being the meatloaf lover saw the R & D Kitchen Meatloaf on the menu so he immediately made that his choice. There are two generously sized meatloaf that's perfectly caramelized and garnished with some herbs. Along with the meatloaf comes with a side of garnished mashed potatoes and seasoned spinach. He enjoyed the dish very much and would suggest it for those who are a fan of meatloafs. [caption id="attachment_18930" align="alignnone" width="469"] Rachael Ray Oven Lovin' Non-Stick 2-Piece Meatloaf Pan Set, Orange[/caption] By the way, for those meatloaf lovers out there,I suggest Rachael Ray Oven Lovin' Non-Stick 2-Piece Meatloaf Pan Set, Orange because now you can eat it and not feel guilty about all the fat. The pan is designed to allow the fats to drain off the meat as you bake. It's non-stick and great to even roast chicken or ham! I'm not a big wine drinker but because this was a special moment for "G" and I, we asked the waiter which wine he would suggest for my French Drip. He was helpful and suggested a white wine for me since I have no idea what wines are good and what they pair well with. You gotta make room for dessert especially because of their popular carrot cake! The carrot cake was divine and oh so heavenly. You could actually see the carrot shavings in the cake and it wasn't overly sweet. I was trying to make sure I didn't eat the whole thing but we eventually ate it all. The plate was wiped clean and it was so worth it. Why waste a perfectly delicious cake! I would love to come to R & D Kitchen again and try their other dishes, perhaps their seafood dishes.
