Marlene’s Natural Foods Market & Deli is located at 2565 S. Gateway Center Place Federal Way, WA 98003. I happened to stumble upon this market because it was literally right next to the place I was staying at. I was so excited to go because I just love to check out markets and browse the aisles to see all the variety of food products and hard to find items.
As you make your way into the market, you will notice a neat display of fresh produce like the winter squash, organic strawberries, and grapes and you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff.
I didn’t know that the market was a specialty store for organic products until I made way down the aisle and saw that they had organic cheeses, organic beer, organic soy sauce, and even canned organic products! Basically you won’t have a problem finding organic products at Marlene’s Natural Foods Market And Deli. I really wish they had this market back at home.
If you’re in need for super foods and supplements, you’ll have no trouble finding it here.
Fermented food has been getting more media attention and it’s health benefits, so it’s no problem finding permented items such as kefur, kimchi, miso paste, and sauerkraut.
For the beer lovers who loves trying new kind, you will definitely find a big selection here. I have never been much of a beer drinker until my bf introduced me to malt beer, Belgian white beer, wheat beer, and stout beers and from then on, I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to beers. So when I saw he organic beer, I was curious to try it but it’s no fun to drink beer by myself.
I had no idea there were such thing as organic beer.
There’s even organic soy sauce!
If you ever tried dried roasted Korean Seaweed, I can imagine these Sea Snax and Sea Crunchies will taste like that. It’s healthy and will satisfy your salty snack cravings.
I’ve been meaning to find matcha powder which is green tea power, but I had no luck. Well I might have spotted some at the Japanese markets back at home, but never bothered to buy some.
Marlene’s Natural Foods Market And DELI which is on the 2nd floor!
After checking out every inch of the market, I took notice of the 2nd floor. I made my way up the stairs to see there were aisles of natural products like Burt’s Bee and other line of face, hair, and body products. Marlene’s Natural Foods Market And Deli IS a DELI so I figured that’s why they had an awesome looking salad bar! I saw all their delicious baked goods and pastas on display so my mouth started to water.
I had to ask the clerk if we had to pay up front for the salad, but she said to grab a plate and start getting what I want. The salad plate is charged by the pound which was about $8. I had to add some fresh organic salad items like spinach, romaine lettuce, kale, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, mushroom, bell peppers, beets, olives, cucumbers, tofu, farm raised chicken, artichokes and a side of balsamic vinaigrette. This was probably the best salad I ever had because it was everything I wanted in a salad, it was all organic, and I felt so energized after eating it. I was ready to have another full day of adventures in Washington!
I took one last look of the market and was ready to head out to Seattle and check out the Space Needle!
