Lays Chip Flavors are hitting the shelves such as the Lays Cappuccino Chips, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Wavy Mango Salsa, and Kettle Cooked Wasabi Chips. I first took notice of this after checking up on Cappuccino hashtags on Instagram. Oh the stuff you learn from Instagram. As a foodie I was on a quest to look for it. Actually it found me because on Thursday I was at Walmart to pick up a new Kcup coffee flavor which was the Brown Sugar Cake, as I was at the checkout like, I for some reason looked behind me… then bam! It was the Lays Cappuccino Chips! I couldn’t believe my eyes. Has the pictures from Instagram come alive? Okay maybe I’m getting too excited over chips.
I decided to try the Cappuccino first. It was also a goal of mine to not have any coffee but I doubt these chips have caffeine in it. Right?
I also tried the Lay’s Wavy Mango Salsa. What I liked about this was that it was wavy so that means there’s more crevices for the seasoning to attach to. What I didn’t like was that it was slightly sweet. I’m more of a salty and flavorful chip fan. But don’t get me wrong, this is very tasty and I much prefer this than the Cappuccino.
The other day I was able to try the Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese. I really expected a more savory flavor but I thought it was somewhat bland and didn’t step up to the flavor bar. There’s a hint of smokey flavor of the bacon, a little bit of the cheese, and I can’t tell what the “mac” is supposed to taste like for chips. You know what would really make these chips better? Add actual crispy bacon bits! What do you think?

There's also the kettle cooked Wasabi Ginger which I really want to try now!
So far I can drill down to my top two which is the Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese and Lay's Wavy Mango Salsa. If I had to choose one it would be the mango salsa for sure.
