La Creperie Cafe – Bohemian Bistro & Bar is located at 4911 E 2nd St Long Beach, CA 90803.
I went here back in 2011 for my graduation dinner and again in 2012 for my friend’s birthday. My bf first mentioned about this place and told me that this restaurant serves entrée made of crepes! I couldn’t imagine crepes being filled with meat or veggies. The only crepes I’ve had were filled with scoops of ice cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, and then topped with whipped cream, peanuts, and sprinkles.
My friends and I were around Long Beach area and we were hungry for dinner. Luckily my bf mentioned this place so we decided to go here. The restaurant was very fancy with decorative pieces on the walls, the mirrors made the inside very elegant and there was even a live band playing. Perhaps it was a pianist.
We got our menu and I was excited what they had to offer. As an appetizer, my bf ordered “Crepe Vendome” Two petite savory crepes filled with chicken brie, apples, caramelized onions, mango chutney and sour cream.
I believe I ordered the “French Riviera” which is Chicken breast, artichoke hearts, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese in a sherry basil cream sauce, my friend “H” ordered “Ratatouille” which is a blend of fresh Mediterranean vegetable —tomatoes, onions, roasted red peppers, zucchini, pesto and herbs de provence, and my other friend “W” ordered I believe “Crepe Carbonara” which is Chicken breast, smoked bacon and mozzarella in a creamy garlic and parmesan cream sauce with pesto and a side of garlic fries and oyster. My bf and “W”‘s bf both ordered “Le Cordon Bleu” which is Chicken roulade filled with mozzarella cheese, jambon de paris and rolled in Japanese bread crumbs. Served with sautéed spinach, shoestring fries, a tangy steak sauce and a savory mushroom sauce and it took the longest to prepare. About 20 mins.
I was not a foodie then so my friends would joke around and say that I never knew any places to suggest. After the first time we tried it, excluding my bf, my friends said my bf really knew great restaurants and now they were confident in the restaurants I suggest to them. 🙂
In the 2nd year:
I forget the name of this dish.
As for dessert, we chose “Martinique” Bananas flambéed in dark rum with brown sugar and butter in a sweet crepe with vanilla ice cream.
