I met my friend at Kim Loan Restaurant since she wanted to grab something to eat in Fullerton. I decided to quickly look up something on Yelp. Vietnamese food sounded good so I looked up a restaurant with good reviews. Perhaps because it was rated 4 starts out of 200+ I expected a lot out of the place. Oh and I got a little lost trying to find this place since the navigation said I was already at my destination too soon. When I drove up a little further up the street and saw the shopping center where this restaurant was located at. Grrr and there was a ton of traffic on the streets to get to this place. Enough of my complaints, lets get to the food!
I ordered the Shrimp and Beef Plate but the waiter apparently didn’t hear me say beef, so my order ended up just being a shrimp place for around $5.50. Even though it’s a good price, I expected the food to be better than expected because there were so much positive reviews on Yelp. I know certain plates are better than others but this was just sad. I was also sad my picture turned out so blurry. But I should have told the waiter to take it back but I didn’t.
I never tried Fish Sauce until this year and I really like it. The scent is very strong but it sure is tasty. The sweet and tangy taste is perfect to mix with rice and the shrimp and gives it that zing.
My friend “J” ordered the Pork plate so we shared a little. Even that plate was not impressive and it was almost all rice.
Would I give it another try? Yes I would because the Pho looks good as well as the Spring Rolls. I’ll give them a benefit of a doubt and return here if I’m ever in the Fullerton area.
