Small Town Pizzeria In Montana: K BAR

Going to K BAR each year is a tradition of ours since we always stay in Gardiner Montana and when we want a casual dinner after a long day in Yellowstone and because we don’t feel like cooking, this is the go to place. The last time we were here was back in 2012 & 2013. The pizza was so good that we just had to return for more.

K-Bar Pizza Restaurant is on Highway 89 and Main Street, just 100 feet from Yellowstone River and 100 feet from Yellowstone Park

Spinach dip

Salad and pizza is what we usually stick to but this time we wanted to be adventurous and order some yummy appetizers. The spinach dip appetizer was tasty but I wish there was more of it the dip. The melted cheesy goodness was satisfying but the chips were just plain ‘ol store bought tortilla chips. It would’ve been nice if they made their own chips like the ones you get at the Mexican market or the Mexican restaurant.

Before digging into the pizza I wanted something healthy and ordered the Caesar salad with the dressing on the side so I can control the amount of dressing. The salad came with a lot of Parmesan cheese so I wasn’t complaining because I LOVE cheese! Green veggies were not in our daily intake so it was refreshing to finally have some greens.

K-BAR Pizza Restaurant is awesome because they make their own dough daily and use only the local and freshest ingredients. Beer and pizza go well together so be sure to check out their expansive selection of beers in both bottles and on tap like some micro brews available in Montana. Can can pair nicely with pizza as well so check out their great wine selection too.

While you wait for your order, take notice of the things in the restaurant like this cute moose lamp.

I also noticed this business hour sign that says “Business hours subject to change during elk season.” Isn’t that cute?

Fireman’s Supreme – A Gardiner Tradition Sausage – Jalapenos – Sauerkraut

If you’re looking for something tangy, spicy and unique, the Fireman’s Supreme is a must! There’s the tanginess from the sauerkraut, the pepper from the sausage, and the spice from the jalapeno which will surely get you fired up and have you asking for more. It might take a while to get your order as there’s one guy preparing the pizza from the open kitchen, but it sure is worth it. Plus I think it’s a nice change to be in a slow paced town instead of the fast paced Los Angeles and Orange County life.

K Bar is located at 202 Main, Gardiner, MT 59030 and opened FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAYS ONLY FROM 4-9PM.
