We arrived to Jackson Hole WY on September 12, 2015 after a long 16 drive from So-cal. It’s a long drive, but it sure is worth it because you pass by a lot of little towns and see a lot of horses and cows on the road.
So we happened to arrive in Jackson Hole right in the middle of a farmer’s market. I was so shocked to see so much people in town. We believed that the busy season was over since summer vacation was over.
You can see a lot of tourists at the Antler Arch that’s one of the main attraction at the square.
This is my 4th year here, the these arches always amazes me. I just love little town because of the mountain ranges behind it, small town feel, local mom and pop shops, and of course, The Grand Teton is not too far!
Autumn is definitely here in Jackson. There are yellow, orange, and red leaves already visible everywhere you go.
We saw this cute ride in town and just had to take a pic of it.
Be sure to check out the gifts shops near by.
If you’re in need of maps, books about hiking trails, or the history about The Grand Teton or Jackson, you’ll find it at the local gift shop.
I was hoping we could grab breakfast at the The Bunnery Restaurant and Bakery, but it was already lunch time. I’ll be posting on a separate post about the lunch at The Bunnery!
After lunch we decided to take a drive to the park. Unfortunately we couldn’t see a lot this day since there was a big bike race BUT we did see The Grand Tetons!
We stopped at a viewpoint where you get a much better view of the mountains.
There’s plenty of parking here so make sure you stop by and take a quick gander.
You’ll also be able to learn a bit about the names of the mountain peaks and about the shrinking Teton glaciers. “Water runoff from the Teton Range provides wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, and even irrigation for thirsty crops along the Snake river in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.”
The 1st day here was eventful even after a long ride here, but we made the most of it.
