It felt like the weekend started on a Wednesday since my friends and I went out for Dim Sum at a place in Irvine called China Garden. It was great having a Chinese speaker since she knew exactly what to ask for. Be sure to stick around since I’ll share my visit to China Garden!

On Thursday, our friend “T” wanted to go hiking out at Blackstar Canyon again so he can prep for his upcoming Yellowstone trip in mid-September. It was another hot summer day but since we went in the evening it wasn’t bad. The sun was slowly going down and the weather was perfect.

I forgot to mention that we saw a tarantula last week but here’s a pic of it. I was so scared it would just jump on me. This time around we saw two toads just scrambling around the leaves. It was already too dark to get a good picture of it.

Dinner At Zamora’s Mexican Restaurant on Friday

On Friday “G” and I wanted to go out to eat and I knew he wanted to go to Shin Sen Gumi, but this time he wanted me to choose. I’m usually craving either Mexican food, Vietnamese food, Mediterranean Food, sushi…ahem I guess I just crave everything but I REALLY wanted Mexican, specifically from Zamora’s so we went there. I’ll post about that also later this week as well.

I’ve actually been having some treat during the week like M&M’s! I usually prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate but I couldn’t resist M&M’s. My friend bought a huge bag from Costco and insisted I take some so I did.

I also had Starbucks coffee and Rice Krispies

Game Night and birthday celebration on Saturday

It was our friend “R” birthday on Tuesday but celebrated on Saturday. The menu was Baked Ziti that my friend made. “G” has been raving about how delicious it is and it was finally my chance to try it. Our friend “E” baked it in a big pot big enough to feed 10 people plus there were some left overs! Oh my gosh you won’t believe just how cheesy it was.

It was baked to perfection, there was ground chicken, extra sauce, and Parmesan cheese. We also enjoyed dinner with a side of delicious cheesy garlic bread and also dessert our friend “B” bought. It was from Marie Calendar’s and was called the Strawberry Lemonade Cake. The cake part totally reminded me of the Pillsbury Strawberry cake but oh my goodness, this cake is to LIVE for!!

Our friend had set the dining table in the backyard for her husband’s birthday get together. Isn’t the set up just lovely? Oh and did you notice that Cosmopolitan on the table? That’s my drink  😉

After a long night out at our friend’s home we decided to just relax on Sunday and grab breakfast at Lee’s. Can’t go wrong with Lee’s Sandwich!

Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake
I wanted plain ‘ol Americano coffee but I guess the manager misunderstood me and instead gave me the Vietnamese coffee. Oh well I wasn’t complaining. It’s so addicting and delicious.

Here’s what to expect in the upcoming week!
Dim sum, Lays  New Chip Flavor, Bear Naked Bar, and a few other things if I can remember! Hopefully I can get to the Zion Park hikes from June…  😳
