Gypsy Den Brunch

The friends and I wanted to check out The Crow Bar but it was just our luck that they closed down. As we were waiting for our other friends to arrive, we decided to check out the place, but there was a sign that they’re currently working on a new restaurant project…noooo! We had to quickly decide where else we could go to grab brunch. Luckily downtown Santa Ana is full of trendy restaurants.

We walked over to the next block and we noticed The Gypsy Den! I’ve always wanted to try this place out so we all agreed this would be our brunch destination. I was surprised there was one in Santa Ana. I remembered there was one located in Costa Mesa after my friend “R” mentioned it.

Gypsy Den Mimosas

There was a Gypsy Den Brunch unlimited mimosa so my friend “T” was sold and ordered it.

The menu here is pretty simple. It’s broken down into brunch and lunch menu. There’s a separate list for alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks.

Iced Soy Latte

I already had my morning coffee at home, but I said why not, lets have more coffee. I ordered Iced Cold Soy Latte. I was hoping the coffee was a little sweet but there was no sweetness. It was enjoyable non the less.

Brunch Breakfast Tacos

I ordered the Breakfast Tacos. The tortillas are topped with slow braised pork that melts in your mouth, beans, avocados, scrambled eggs, and housemade salsa. The slow braised pork was the best part about the tacos. I was disappointed that the tortillas were soggy…but I know that couldn’t be helped the fact that it was topped with salsa. Perhaps I can ask for the salsa on the side the next time.

Chorizo Breakfast Burrito

The hubby ordered the Breakfast Burrito which I took a bite of. It was really good! There were loads of bacon, chorizo, black beans, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and potatoes! “G” really enjoyed it himself. You can choose from chorizo or soyrizo and bacon or veggie bacon. Along with the burrito comes with a side of fresh fruits.

Life jazz band

We showed up just in time because there was a life Jazz band playing. There was a really talented sax player and a cool rapper. Who knew rapping can go so well with jazz.

I would definitely go back to Gypsy Den, possibly the one located in Costa Mesa CA.

Gypsey Den is located at 125 N Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
