Travel Thursdays: Winter Wonderland At Forest Falls California

Hi friends and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great countdown to the New Year and spent time with loved ones. Here is my first post of this new year and I look forward to many more blog posts to share with you all and hope you all return and check out my blog. ♥ 🙂

Let me tell you a story of a winter wonderland here in Southern California. It’s covered with powdered snow and looks like you’re in Christmas land where kids are sledding, people are snow fighting, and families are taking pictures. I’m talking about a place called Forest Falls California is located in San Bernardino National Forest and you should definitely check it out now because it’s simply beautiful.

Southern California has been getting odd weather, it’ll be cold one day, and then hot the next. There’s also no snow in the city so I get kind of jealous of other states that get a bit of snow because it’s like Winter Wonderland in December.

Luckily you can get snow in Southern California when you just drive a little bit up to the mountains to Forest Falls.. The California drought has been serious so I didn’t think there would be a falls but to my surprise, there was! The water fall was rushing down and creating a clear stream. The hike to the falls is very short and be careful when you walk because of the compacted snow from other walkers. While you take a hike, take your time and just enjoy the snow.

But after shopping at the Cabazon Outlets, our good friend “T” took us to this wonderful place not too far from home. As you drive up towards the mountains, you will suddenly see a lot more snow covered homes and cars.

Once I jumped out of the car I was capturing all the wonderful snow on camera and video. The scenery is just stunning with the fresh powdered snow covered trees, mountains, and the rocks.

My travel to Forest Falls happened so last-minute so I wasn’t too prepared. I just had on my boots, leggings, a casual dress, a MICHAEL Michael Kors Mk Logo Crossbody Bag and a jacket but I wasn’t freezing too badly. Just the sight of the snow made me forget how cold I was, and I just enjoyed every last-minute spent here. But let me tell ya, this Omni Heat Columbia jacket is a life savor because it helps you retain all your body heat because of a special aluminum interior. Here is one that is similar Columbia Women’s Mighty Lite III Jacket, White, Medium as it is also Omni-Heat Reflective.

Tada, here is the beautiful falls which is rare to see in Socal! Falls are usually non-existence in the area I go hiking at so it’s so refreshing to see lots of water flowing down. The water is super clean and clear I wanted to just grab a cup and drink it straight out of the stream. I wouldn’t suggest you do that unless you have this LifeStraw Personal Water Filter which removes minimum 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and minimum 99.9% of waterborne protozoan parasites.

Be sure to be cautious of the area as it’s known for big falls and is a hazardous area.

Forest Falls California is located at the Valley of the Falls Dr. Off Hwy. 38 Forest Falls, CA 92339
