Do you remember when you were younger and you believed that the moon was made of cheese? I certainly did when I saw the movie Wallace and Gromit when they land on the moon and have a picnic eating the moon’s cheese. How about when you watched the Simpsons where Homer dreams about going to Chocolate land. As a kid, I really wished there was a land of chocolate, a moon made of cheese, a mountain of Milk Duds, and trees made of lollipops.
Well have you heard about Foodscapes which is food landscapes? My bf sent me this article and it was so surreal seeing how these landscapes were all made of food. Carl Warner is an artist and photographer who began his career in landscapes and still photography. He wanted new inspirations and one day, he saw a Portobello mushroom at a market and thought it looked like trees from another world. This is what inspired him to create foodscapes which he begins his exciting career.
Check out these pictures of his food landscape work and you’ll be amazed at how realistic it looks!
I really loved the Candy-Cottage because it’s girly, the “trees” are made of lollipops and there’s just so much details that went into this foodscape.
What I like about the Bread & Cheesedale is that the bread were used to represent mountains which I thought was very clever. You can also notice the slices of bread used as the stone walls.
The Yellow Oasis sure reminded me of Wallace and Gromit when they make their way to the moon of cheese. They should visit the yellow oasis and have a sample of that cheese pyramid.
I loved the chocolate express especially because I’m a big chocolate lover. It’s the land of chocolate from The Simpson’s coming to life!
I’m a big carb lover and if I could shrink myself to fit into the Bread World, I would do so in an instant. I mean, come on, mountains made of bread, roofs made of bread, stairs made of bread, I can imagine the village would smell like artisan baked bread every morning.
When you look at this picture, you just want to kayak in the Amazon and perhaps the bell pepper man will take you on a tour and tell you all about it.
