On Saturday, “G”, “T”, and I went over to the Orange Street Food Fair at the Orange Circle- Old Town Orange located at 112 E Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92866. I wish I knew about this event sooner so I could share it with you all. This event ran from August 29th through the 31st which celebrates international food, entertainments, Arts & Crafts, and music.

When I heard about this on Friday, I had only one thing in mind, Orange Street Food Fair FOOD! I couldn’t wait to see what the fair had to offer.

America

We started the food adventure early in the morning yet it was already getting crowded, especially the parking in the residential area.

Switzerland

As I was getting my camera ready, I looked up and noticed all the different banners displaying the nation the food vendors were serving. It felt as though I was on the Disneyland ride called “It’s A Small World” as there were so many different international food vendors.

There are many different ethnic cuisines and are grouped by banners such as cuisines from Mexico, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Italy, and many more.

Come with me as we travel to Germany!

Germany

Here in Germany, there was a vendor with chocolate dipped cheesecakes, chocolate banana, and pretzels. I’m not sure if the cheesecakes and bananas are a German thing but I knew the pretzels were! I just had to get one.

Salted pretzel with mustard

I ordered the salted pretzel and you can choose from either cheese or mustard dip. I got mustard because I believe it’s more authentic to dip pretzel in mustard than in cheese.

There even was the German band!

In Asia, there were Japanese cuisines such as lobster on a stick, hand rolls, and even sushi! I was skeptical of the sushi so I didn’t bother getting it.

The guys ordered a Polish Dog at the Switzerland vendor for breakfast. This vendor had plenty of sausages ready on the grill.

Now I need to find something for breakfast and I had a craving for Greek and tada! [caption id="attachment_15727" align="alignnone" width="600"]Gyro $6 Orange Street Food Fair Food- Gyro $6[/caption] There was a Greek vendor selling Gyros for $6. Pricey but it was tasty. Who says you can't have gyro for breakfast! When you're at the street fair anything goes.
Off to Denmark for some sweet treats! [caption id="attachment_15719" align="alignnone" width="600"]Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver vendor Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver vendor[/caption] I was so happy to see an  Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver vendor! This sweet treat was our first dessert at the street fair. [caption id="attachment_15720" align="alignnone" width="600"]Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver[/caption] I first had Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver last year when "G" took me to Solvang which is a cute little Denmark village in Santa Ynez Valley County. There's a restaurant there called the Solvang Restaurant where they serve delicious sausages and Ebelskivers served with powdered sugar, jam, and scoop of vanilla ice cream! [caption id="attachment_15728" align="alignnone" width="600"]Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver[/caption] Yummers...just look at all that strawberry jam and powdered sugar on that golden brown pancake! It was tasty but not as tasty as the ones from Solvang that's for sure. [caption id="attachment_15801" align="alignnone" width="600"]Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver in the making Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver in the making[/caption] I even got a sneak peek at the Ebelskivers / Æbleskiver in the making.  😎
We probably had so much dessert from the street fair... [caption id="attachment_15729" align="alignnone" width="600"]Strawberry lemonade Strawberry lemonade[/caption] Since it was so hot the strawberry lemonade sure sounded good. There were regular, blueberry, and strawberry lemonade and decided to get strawberry. It was uber sweet and not that tangy. I wish it had more of a sour taste. "T" chose the blueberry lemonade and he pointed out all the sugar that were collecting on the bottom of the cup.
Off to Asia again because we wanted something cool to eat and then we remembered the Frozen Fruit Bars Stand! [caption id="attachment_15721" align="alignnone" width="600"]Frozen fruit bars Orange Street Food Fair Food- Frozen fruit bars[/caption] I knew exactly what I wanted after I saw that they listed watermelon. [caption id="attachment_15746" align="alignnone" width="600"]Coconut cream ice cream with coconut strips Coconut cream ice cream with coconut strips[/caption] But when it was time to order, the lady working said that wasn't on the menu. There was a different menu on the counter which did not include watermelon. I was disappointed but oh well. [caption id="attachment_15747" align="alignnone" width="600"]Strawberry banana and coconut cream Strawberry banana and coconut cream[/caption] Instead I got the Coconut Cream Ice Cream which was a great choice because it was creamy and had lot of coconut shreds! Was it just me or did most of you guys dislike shredded coconut or still do? I just love it now. "G" got the Strawberry Banana. [caption id="attachment_15760" align="alignnone" width="600"]Cookies galore Cookies galore[/caption] There were plenty of desserts here at the street food fair such as giant cookies and rice crispies! [caption id="attachment_15725" align="alignnone" width="600"]The Pizza Press coming soon The Pizza Press coming soon[/caption] Look! Coming soon is The Pizza Press! I had to take a picture of the place because it actually opens. Did you go any Street Food Fair near your area? If so please share! I love hearing about the different international cuisines out there as I'm always wandering about!

Looks like a fun event! What are Ebelskivers? They kind of look like donuts!

It was very fun but way too hot… Ebelskivers are like donuts! Except they’re not deep fried, instead baked in a cast iron Ebelskivers pan. They’re Danish pancakes that’s more like popovers.
