Hello hello all, happy Thursday! It’s almost Friday so hand in there. Want to know the secrets on natural ways to help you feel good? Just think about the saying “you are what you eat.” The saying holds true in such that there are “Feel Good Foods” to lift up your mood.
There’s probably days when you feel depressed and just feeling blue but did you know bananas are the best medicine for that? It contains dopamine which is a natural chemical that enhances your mood. It’s high in B vitamins, vitamin B6, and magnesium.
Greek Yogurt is perfect after a workout or for breakfast as it’s full of protein which keeps you feeling full longer. Plus it’s not packed with sugar like regular yogurt and it aids in digestion. Happy stomach means happier you =)
After I heard the benefits of chia seeds, I add it to my oatmeal of sprinkle some on top of rice.What are chia seeds? You may remember the famous commercial, chi chi chi chia! Yes you’re right, the chia plants you saw on the commercial are the same seeds used to grow Gardfields “hair”. These are tiny little gluten free seeds with lots of calcium, Omega-3s, fiber, and it’s a good source of protein.
Who doesn’t like peanut butter? But you have to be careful to watch your portion to about 2 tablespoon which is about 200 calories. If you’re feeling down, grab either celery or apple and dip it in peanut butter which is full of healthy fats. The picture above may not be peanut butter but it’s a cookie spread which is yummy and will make you feel food!
Avocado contains serotonin which helps your well-being and it’s a feel-good neurotransmitter. It’s also helps keeping your skin youthful and moisturized as well as your hair, nails and has been known to reduce inflammation. Try spreading some mashed avocado on your sandwich instead of mayo and make guacamole and have it with some chips!
I just LOVE chocolate so I was happy to hear all the benefits of dark chocolate. When you’re stressed, grab some dark chocolate as it can lower the stress hormones cortisol which is what makes you stressed out. So don’t feel bad if you have to indulge in chocolate in times of need!
After lunch, I like to enjoy a cup of green tea because it’s cold but did you know it contains contains theanine and the herb Passionflora, which helps you calm and relaxed but won’t make you jitterly like coffee does?
Berries are full of antioxidants which will help you feeling good and lift up your mood. I like to add frozen berries to yogurt, oatmeal, or cereal.
AND of course, load up on fruits and veggies as it makes you look and feel good!
