Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t been posting as much as I should. Last week was very eventful as “G” and I went to a German restaurant as well as an authentic German market called Euro Market Bakery & Deli. Our friend were hosting a BBQ sausage event so we wanted to bring a variety of sausages. The German Market located at Huntington Beach CA is within a cute little German Village called Old World Village (I’ll post about it later this week) and let me tell you, it’s a hidden treasure you should definitely visit especially for all your German candy, deli meat, and market good needs.

What was most exciting about the place was that they had an amazing variety of authentic German chocolates! It seriously seemed like I was actually there. The chocolate selection at the market were the kind of chocolates I’d dream about if I were to go to Germany. Instead I had them all at the tip of my fingertip!

Vanillekipferl reminds me of Mexican wedding cakes because the cookie is covered with powdered sugar. These small crescent shaped biscuit originate from Austria, Germany, Czech, Slovak, and Hungarian and then is powdered with vanilla sugar.

I’ve heard of the Marzipan which is a confection made of sugar, honey, and almond meal covered with chocolate. It’s a very sweet chocolate filled candy and it tasted like the American candy Almond Joy at first.
