My friend “J” suggested Coffee Code which is a cute little coffee shop to me so she wanted to meet me while she was down in the Orange County area for the weekend. As I waited for her, I saw a lady whom I believe was the owner, popping out Belgian waffles like there’s no tomorrow! There were only two double sided waffle iron makers but she was able to keep up with all the demands. She would pour the batter onto the iron, turned to the other side once sizzling, open up the iron, pick up the waffle with wooden chopsticks and fan it with a folding fan, toss it on a plate, and has the younger waitresses top it off with scoops of ice cream, fruity pebble cereal, and other toppings that customer’s has asked for. It was amazing how she could pull off two waffles at a time!
My friend finally arrived and I after constantly grazing at other people’s drink, I finally decided what to order. I ordered the Cafe Mocha while my friend ordered the White Mocha Latte. What I love most about coffee shops is the latte art and see how beautifully presented it is. It definitely becomes difficult to drink because I don’t want to mess up the art, but I had to drink it while it was warm. The Cafe Mocha was silky, creamy, not too sweet, and the aroma of the coffee just uplifts your mood.
Group of people were inside the cafe chatting it up and sipping on their drinks. I noticed many drinks, but what really caught my attention was the Eiskaffe Aka Affogato (espresso with ice cream) which looked like coffee ice cream in a mug and I have a weakness for coffee ice cream! I will surely have to try that the next time I come here.
There’s a lot of drinks to choose from like the Green Tea Latte, Cafe Americano, White Chocolate Latte, Sweet Potato Latte & Caramel Latte.
Coffee Code is not limited to only coffee. There are Milk Teas, Green Tea Fraps, Oreo Smoothies,
As for desserts, there the Berryberry Waffle, Cinnamon Bread, Brick Toasts, and Parfaits.
