Claim Jumper (Clam Jumper as I like to call it)
The last time I went to Claim Jumper was back in 2009 and it didn’t end well. I ordered a chicken dish and it did not sit well in my stomach. That’s why I didn’t really care for it until my bf decided we should go there for his birthday. I knew it would be better this time around so I agreed to go. We wanted to sit at the bar but of course, it was happy hour and there was no room for us to sit. We walked towards the back to the dining area and we were happy that we did since we were able to hear each other talk.
“G” and I started with some drinks. I ordered the Cosmopolitian which is served in a fancy glass and with a slice of lime. “G” ordered beer since he’s a beer kind of guy.
They had a huge selection of favorites listed on the menu. We first started out with the Spinach Artichoke dip as we always do when we go to an American restaurant. What I liked best was the chips because they really tasted home made.
What caught my eyes was the Jamaican Jerk chicken on sweet potato. The ingredients sounded delicious so I took the chance and ordered that. The Jamaican Jerk chicken very colorful from the green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, lemon wedges, the orange from the sweet potato, and the spices on the Jamaican Jerk Chicken.
“G” ordered the Meatloaf with mashed potato since he’s a big fan of meatloaf. The plate comes with a crispy buttery biscuit, mashed potatoes, side of stir-fried veggies, and a extra marinated meatloaf. He enjoyed his meal and so did I. It was a good experience at the Claim Jumper this time around so I was happy!
