California Gogi Korean Grill Located at 4237 Campus Dr Ste B157 Irvine, CA 92612 at the UCI Student center with many other restaurants nearby.
My bf had to work just for a few hours today so we decided to meet up for a lunch date. He told me about a place called California Gogi Korean Grill that served Korean food in a bento box and for the price, under $7, you get 2 side of meat, either white or brown rice, and many sides dishes (banchan) to choose from.
Think of Korean version of Chipotle or Subway. Eager customers wait in line as a bento box prepares your requested items. I for sure was going to get brown rice, gogi, kimchi, pickles, and bean sprout. The meat was super delicious and sweet. I had to balance out the sweet and saltiness with the sticky brown rice (sticky rice is a plus so it’s easy to pick up with chopsticks!)
It’s definitely an experience to try this place out, but it worries me how every type of cuisine is now becoming “fast.” What are your thoughts about these “fast” food restaurants? Do you think the quality and values will go down?
