Hike At Blackstar Canyon 10.26.13

It was a great weekend for a hike at Blackstar Canyon. We started the hike at our usual time, but it seemed like it was much earlier because the fog was quite heavy. The highs were supposed to be in the 70s but we weren’t sure if that was going to happen.

My bf had to put on the heater in the car since it was a bit chilly. There were lots of bikers than hikers which is usually the case. The dirt parking lot was almost all filled up and there were some that parked however they wanted making it difficult for others to park in between the unlined dirt parking.

As we were hiking, we had to keep alert for bikers coming down the trail. We spotted a poor lifeless lizard that was probably trampled by a biker. You could hear loud brush movements in the bushes which were the birds.

We usually spot some peacocks on the property of a man which used to live on the house that’s next to the trail. That house has a beautiful pond where you can spot some catfishes, squirrels, birds, golf putting, and a BBQ grill.

There was one peacock, then two, then next thing you know we spotted a whole bunch! Our friend tried to make a call that peacocks made and apparently they either hated or liked it because all of them started following us!

I was somewhat scared that they would peck my eyes out but they were after our friend that made the call. I wonder what it translated to in peacock language.

Before the trail branches off to the trail the the falls, we turned back and headed our way back to the truck. By then, the sun was beating down on us and the fog fully cleared.
All the walking and hiking worked up an appetite so as our tradition, we went to John’s Place for breakfast.

I can’t wait to go on more hikes as I’m always looking forward to it! Have you ever been here to hike before?
