BCD Tofu House is perfect on a cold night or when you want something warm. It’s like comfort food, but a Korean version of comfort food. Here you will get lots of side dishes if you go to locations in Cerritos, Irvine or LA which I heard is the original. The worst experience was at Garden Grove as it was a busy night with only about two staff. They have forgotten to serve the fried fish and the side dishes (banchan) were not replenished 🙁
The banchan selections varies by the day and location. The cucumber kimchi is my favorite but I rarely get to have that now.
I have tried the seafood, kimchi, and veggie tofu soup (chigae) and my favorite is kimchi by far. I always look forward to that hot boiling bowl of soup where it’s hot enough to crack an egg and mix it around.
BCD Tofu House is located in many locations throughout LA and OC area. I like the one located at 2700 Alton Pkwy Ste 135 Irvine, CA 92606 because it’s full of restaurants nearby and I can grab a boba drinks after dinner.
