Hi everyone! SO I decided to create a section about the new sweets discovered section where I share new kind of sweets I’ve tried. There’s just so much out there and this is a great opportunity to share with you as well 🙂 Hope you look forward to the new discovered sweets!
So the new sweet that I discovered was the Anastasia Confections Classic Original Coconut Patties that my friend got me from her trip to Florida. She’s originally from Hawaii so when she first gave me this, I assumed it was from Hawaii and coconut is such an island fruit. And along with the candy, she also gave me a calendar from Hawaii.
Wait, is coconut a fruit? Hmm. Well a coconut can be defined as a drupe which is a fruit/nut/seed with a hard covering enclosing the seed. Enough about what a coconut is defined as but the review on the taste of this sweet candy!
At a young age, I never cared for anything coconut. I enjoyed how it tasted but never the hard, annoying texture of coconut. Don’t get me wrong, I loved eating the Mexican coconut paletas but I would spit out the coconut shreds. Almond Joy would get me Almond Sad because I loved the chocolate part, but not the dreadful coconut shavings.
Then as a grown up, I began liking it as well as many other things like onions, cilantro, spicy foods, garlic, coffee and bitter-sweet chocolate. Perhaps liking coconut is a grownup thing?
Original Coconut Pattie which is a patty made up of shredded coconut is coated in rich, dark chocolaty goodness which every coconut and chocolate lovers will enjoy!
I wish I could go to Florida to discover other sweets. I haven’t seen these candy else where but I did find that you can purchase them online.
