Everything Bagel

Hey all, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend and as the summer is slowing fading make sure you do all the summer weekend activity. I know a lot of kids are already starting school so make sure you spend time with them. Was it me or did the weekend just passed us right by? That’s what happens if you have too much fun! So here’s what went down last week and the weekend activities I enjoyed. I enjoyed a yummy Everything’s Bagel from Bruggers. When I have a bagel it needs to be extra toasted and crunchy.

On Wednesday last week, “G”, “T” and I went for an evening hike at Black Star Canyon. “T” is going to Yellowstone again in September so he wants to be ready for those tough hikes. I’m so jealous, I wish I could go there again. But before the hike “G” had to get gas at Costco so we had to rush dinner. We ate at this sandwich shop in the same shopping center with Costco called Fuji’s Famous Burgers but I’ll talk about it later this week.

When we arrived to Blackstar Canyon, we saw a Lamborghini and his buddies had the GoPro attached to the bed of the truck to record the Lambo going back and forth on the street. Even after getting miles into the trail the sound of the Lambo’s engine could still be heard. I’ve been hiking a lot recently and thought it’s about time I share with you all on what to take on a hike to make sure you’re well prepared!

On Saturday morning we headed to Crystal Cove State Park since we’ve never done this hike before. I was really excited since it’s a trail really close to the beach. It’s right off Pacific Coast Hwy between Laguna Beach and Corona Del Mar.

We started the hike around 9 and finished about 11:30 so you can imagine we really worked up an appetite. There was this deli called Gallos nearby so we stopped there and because “G” said the subs there were awesome. Can’t wait to share that with you all. Stay tuned for this post as well!

On Saturday we also went to Game night at our friend’s home. “R” wife is on a business trip so he had the kids at the house. The kids are adorable and loves to show “G” and I their cool PS4 games. Before we went to board game night we picked up dinner at a small joint that serves Teriyaki Bowls. It’s a recommended cheap eats but that’s also coming this week.

We played a new board game called Small World. It’s a unique board game based on tactics and the purpose of the game is to gain as much coins as you can at the end and take over lands. Learning was simple but the only problem was that the map was too small and there were just too much pieces to the game. After one round of this game we played our favorite, DC Deck Building Game.

Sunday morning was a lazy one. Well somewhat because I got my car washed and vacuumed!  We got up early to get breakfast at Lee’s Sandwich. I was planning to stay away from coffee but I just can’t turn down Lee’s coffee which is highly concentrated with caffeine and condensed milk. Luckily it’s watered down from the ice.

I ordered my usual which is the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Baguette Sandwich. I know American cheese is not good for you because it’s highly processed but I live life by portion control and in moderation. Sometimes you just have to live a little! How was your weekend activities? Please share! I’d love to hear all about it  🙂
