If you’re looking to travel, try the Dixie National Forest. It is located at Cedar City, UT 84721 surrounded by brilliantly colored red rocks of the hoodoos. What surrounds the National Forests are Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, and the Capital Reef. It occupies almost two million acres  and stretches about 170 miles across southern Utah.

Dixie National Forest offers a variety of recreation activities such as hiking , camping at camp grounds or the back-country, enjoy fishing which is the prime location for that, hunting, horseback riding,  mountain biking, winter activities, sightseeing throughout the area so activities are endless.

I was fortunate enough to do some sight-seeing at the Dixie National forest but not as much as I wanted to. Looking at the hoodoos and trails really made me want to go hiking but there was just not enough time.

There are great trails around the area with hundreds of miles with varied elevations, rugged lava fields, high mountain lakes, meadows with wild flowers, and different geology. People go backpacking as well as go day hiking.

Even if you don’t have the chance to make a stop for a hike, just stay in the car for a scenic drive through the nations most scenic and historic routes.
