Teddy Bear Restaurant is located at 583 Pine Knot Ave Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 which is in The Village. There’s a lot of construction going on right now so try to “bear” with it 🙂 Get it? Hehe. There are additional parking nearby so we parked in an unpaved gravel lot.

My bf and I decided to give Teddy Bear Restaurant a second visit. Last time, we went to Teddy Bear Restaurant back in 2012 for lunch and so it wasn’t so packed.  This time around ,we stopped in for breakfast.

Spanish omelet
Teddy Bear Restaurant-Spanish omelet with avocado and bacon with eggs whites, side of sourdough toast, and a bowl of fruits.

It was around 10am when we arrived and there were so much people lined up already. As we were trying to sign in our names, the hostess told us if we mind to sit at the bar. We saw no problem with that so we were seated right away. We were happy because we were ready to eat!

I didn’t know if I wanted pancakes or waffles which is usually the dilemma when it comes to eating out for breakfast. I decided to eat healthy and order the Spanish omelet which was filled with avocado and bacon. I guess you can’t really call bacon healthy but it’s a must for breakfast! I wanted to change my mind and order pancakes and waffles so I placed my order as quickly as possible before I did.

The Spanish omelet was stuffed with a lot of avocado and crispy bacon. There were so much avocado and I used it as a spread on my toast. I also got a side of delicious fruits which was like a dessert because of the sweet syrup.

I pointed out the corned beef hash on the menu and my boyfriend ordered that right away since that’s one of his favorite breakfast item. He ordered with a side of biscuit and gravy which we shared.

I would definitely return to this restaurant again if we’re in Big Bear. The food is great as well as the presentation. It has a small town feel to it and the staff are friendly and love what they’re doing. I could tell who the locals were as the waitress asked “the usual”? I sure envy those that gets to live in Big Bear and just enjoy the slow paced mornings.
