On my weekend wrap up, I called this place Zamora Restaurant when I should’ve said Taqueria Zamoras. Getting the name right means a lot because on Yelp, Taqueria Zamora is highly rated whereas Zamora Restaurant is a different restaurant with not so great review.
I thought I reviewed this place a while back but I guess not =( I'll need to look for the food pics I took on my first visit but for now here's a review on it now. [caption id="attachment_15506" align="alignnone" width="600"]Burrito Burrito[/caption] What I love about this place are the chips and salsa, PLUS they serve a plate of refried beans topped with cheese. "G" and I ate the entire basket of chips and the beans. I probably ate the most and cleaned the bean plate clean. I learned my lesson from my last visit because I know how big the portions are. [caption id="attachment_15505" align="alignnone" width="600"]Green Salsa Green Salsa[/caption] The chips are served with both green and red salsa. The green salsa has chunks of tomatillo in it and isn't as spicy as the red. [caption id="attachment_15504" align="alignnone" width="600"]Red Salsa Red Salsa[/caption] The red salsa is not chunky at all and is pretty spicy but I love it. Both "G" and I liked the red salsa the best. We even added the salsa to our main dish. [caption id="attachment_15503" align="alignnone" width="600"]Beans, chips, and salsa Beans, chips, and salsa[/caption] By the time I ate up all the beans and chips I wasn't even hungry for the main dish so I wanted to order something small. [caption id="attachment_15501" align="alignnone" width="600"]Fish Taco and homemade tortilla Fish Taco and homemade tortilla[/caption] For around $4 you can get this tasty Fish Taco with homemade corn tortilla. As you can see, homemade tortilla aren't perfectly round. The tortilla reminds me of the one from Crazy Coyote but isn't made of whole-wheat. The only problem I had with the taco was that the juice from the fish eventually made the tortilla soggy and it wasn't as tasty. If you order this make sure you eat it fast before it turns soggy. [caption id="attachment_15502" align="alignnone" width="600"]Corona Light Corona Light[/caption] If you're lucky there might even be a mariachi band playing. Right when we arrived the band was leaving 🙁 Taqueria Zamora is located at 3121 S Main St Santa Ana, CA 92707.
