Happy Tuesday everyone! The weekend weather was quite nice and but really breezy which was what I liked the least.

On Friday our friend had the birthday at Cheesecake Factory and then we just went over to to his bro’s house for an after dinner hangout. There were lumpia which is Filipino egg rolls as well as Filipino spaghetti and then of course birthday cake. I’ll try to post something on the Cheesecake Factory eat if I get the chance to borrow my bro’s pics!

For mother’s day, we ordered pizza and had dinner at home at our favorite local pizza place we’ve been going to for many years. My mom loves the simple things so it was her special day so that’s what we did for her. But before all the Mother’s Day celebration, “G” and I went hiking at a new spot in Whiting Ranch in Lake Forest CA.

The entrance to Whiting Ranch was so unexpected because the parking lot to any trails were in an area away from stores and shopping centers. Instead, one entrance we used required us to park in a tiny parking lot with shopping centers nearby like Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Target, and other big shops. The actual parking spot is at the Market Place at Portola Parkway in Foothill Ranch and at Glenn Ranch Road Staging Area. Plus there’s a McDonalds right across the street. I can imagine that people will be drawn to the smell of McDonald’s after their long hike.

The hike is awesome because there are all different terrains so make sure you wear high ankle hiking boots. Trails were sandy, rocky, slippery, and just unexpected but it makes it that much more of a workout.

Isn’t this so beautiful? Everything was just so green and flowers were full blossom.

It’s always fun and exciting to hike at a new spot because we get to hike more difficult and different trail. We hiked a moderate-strenuous trail path called “Billy Goat Trail.” While we were huffing and puffing to hike the steep trail we came to realize why it was called that way. We sure felt like billy boats and every time we thought we reached the top, it just kept on going.

We spotted some cool cactus flowers along the way and other cool plants and flowers.

Apples!? Not sure what it is…

There were lots of beautiful and colorful flowers blooming. From purple, orange, yellow, and white, it was a beautiful site. We saw a snake passing us by, a poor lizard that was run over from a biker, and some weird looking “fruit” that looked like an apple. But we are certain it wasn’t an apple.

What a view! It was scary at the top as the winds were really rough where at times I thought I’d fly away!

Whew it was finally time for a break. Our friend “T” had these yummy Kit’s Organic Bars like the Coconut Sesame Seeds, Berry, and a few others. The bar sure hit the spot and helped me regain my energy for the hike back!
