Johnny Rebs: Southern Cookin’ Close To Home

I went to Johnny Rebs back when I was still in HS and I remember I didn’t like what I got. I wasn’t familiar with Southern cooking and food so I didn’t know what to order. But I did eventually order the chicken fried chicken and to me, that was very unfamiliar to me, therefore, didn’t enjoy it. Ever since then I never would’ve thought I’d return to this place.

Johnny Rebs in Bellflower has been doing a lot of renovations and it really caught my attention. Funny thing is that “G” saw a Groupon deal for a meal for 2 so he decided we should go check them out.

I remember before the renovation, there were wood chips on the ground to make it feel like it was a truly a Southern place where it gives you an imagine of people chopping wood. I really liked the interior and it was cool to see how it looked now. There were no wood chips but the interior still had that Southern feel to it. Plus they still has the free peanuts!
